About Wild Prairie Silver

I just love to play with fire. I love mixing fire and metal so I guess that in turn makes jewelry. I am self-taught for the most part and really enjoy making the entire piece right down to every little component.

Jewelry is now almost full-time for me. I am by education and devotion an RN. I only work as an RN one day a week. I might cut back even further because my jewelry business is so busy that I sometimes can't keep up.

My children are often helping me which keeps me busy too. It's great that I can stay home with them and have a business that is as busy as it is. I am truly blessed. They often help draw up designs and give me plenty of ideas and inspiration. They also are great critics: "Mom, that is really weird."

Other inspiration comes from the outdoors. My flower garden is pure pleasure for me to work in and observe. I am surround by nature where I live and love it.

Don't forget my husband. He acts like he is hands off the girlie jewelry business but I could not do it without him. He is constantly buying me tools. He only buys the best tools which is super. He just built me a hydraulic press. Yes, he is very handy. He is a great tudor when it comes to welding since that is his trade. You should see my beautiful stainless steal earring displays we made together - gorgeous. Without my better half I would not have half the skills or half the bravery to keep creating things. So even though he modestly stays out of the lime-light he is ever there in the back ground keeping me going.

I hope 2012 is a great year for all. God Bless.
